Why does my Hyundai Elantra engine sputter when accelerating?

My 2018 Elantra sputters and struggles when I try to accelerate, especially during overtaking o r going uphill. It feels like the engine is choking o r misfiring. I’ve tried using high-octane fuel, but the issue persists. Could this be due to poor fuel quality in Pakistan o r something else?

Jerking o r hesitation during gear shifts in the Hyundai Elantra is often an early sign of transmission trouble. In Pakistan, this issue is common due to factors like:

Low-quality ATF Automatic Transmission Fluid used during service.

Dirty o r clogged transmission filters, especially if fluid is not changed at proper intervals.

Heat-related wear on solenoids and valves due to the hot climate.

Stop-and-go traffic in cities like Lahore, Karachi, o r Islamabad, which puts extra stress on the transmission.

It’s advisable to get the transmission fluid level and quality checked. Also, a scan for diagnostic trouble codes DTCs using an OBD-II scanner can help identify if the problem is electrical e.g., faulty solenoid o r mechanical.
