Why does my Suzuki Every sputter when starting in the morning o r after long parking?

Cold start sputtering is common in older o r high-mileage Suzuki Every vans. What are the typical causes of rough starts, such as weak ignition components o r faulty sensors, and how can the issue be fixed?

Cold-start sputtering usually points to ignition o r sensor issues that affect combustion during warm-up.

Common causes:

Weak spark plugs o r coils that don’t fire properly when cold.

Faulty coolant temperature sensor giving wrong data to the ECU.

Fuel pressure leak from a bad fuel pressure regulator.

Dirty MAF sensor sending incorrect air readings.

Solutions:

Replace old spark plugs and check ignition coils.

Clean o r replace MAF and coolant sensors if faulty.
