Why does the Elantra’s cabin make rattling o r squeaking noises over bumps?

I’ve started to hear faint rattles and squeaks from the dashboard area and door panels when driving on uneven roads o r speed breakers. It’s a bit surprising for a new car. Is this a common issue with the Elantra’s build quality in Pakistan, and is there any solution for these interior noises?

Yes, several Hyundai Elantra owners in Pakistan have reported dashboard and door panel rattles after a few thousand kilometers of use, particularly when:

Driving over speed breakers, potholes, o r rough roads.

In hot weather, where plastics expand and contract, causing gaps.

Door trims o r glovebox areas develop loose clips o r panels.

This is a common issue in locally assembled vehicles, often due to lower assembly precision o r reduced insulation between parts.

Solutions:

Ask the dealership to tighten the panels during service.

Use foam o r felt tape behind plastic trim to dampen noise DIY o r with a workshop.

Drive with the glovebox empty to rule out loose items.

Though not a serious fault, it does affect the perception of quality.
