Why Does the Fuel Cap on My Suzuki Swift Feel Loose o r Not Seal Properly?

I’ve noticed that the fuel cap on my Suzuki Swift doesn’t tighten securely—it keeps spinning o r doesn’t “click” into place. Is this a common issue in locally assembled Swifts in Pakistan? Could it cause fuel evaporation o r check engine lights?

A loose o r non-sealing fuel cap is a relatively common issue with the Suzuki Swift in Pakistan, especially with locally assembled models. Over time, the rubber gasket inside the cap can wear out, o r the plastic threading may lose grip. If the cap keeps spinning o r doesn’t click properly when tightened, it may not be sealing the fuel tank, which can cause fuel vapor leaks. This may trigger the check engine light especially in models with EVAP systems and also affect fuel efficiency slightly. Replacing the cap with a new, OEM-compatible one usually solves the issue.
