Why does the power window in my Suzuki Every go down but not come back up?

Why does the power window in my Suzuki Every go down but not come back up?

The passenger window goes down fine but doesn’t come back up unless I press the switch many times. Is this a problem with the switch, motor, o r power window regulator? How common is this issue in imported Suzuki Every vans in Pakistan?

If your window goes down easily but not back up, the issue could be electrical o r mechanical:

Worn Window Switch Contacts: Switches wear out over time and may lose contact in one direction.

Weak o r Dirty Motor Brushes: The motor may have difficulty reversing direction if internal parts are dirty.

Regulator Cable Issues: A frayed o r misaligned cable inside the regulator might stop upward motion.

This problem is very common in reconditioned Japanese imports, especially if the parts haven’t been serviced.

Solution:
First, test the switch with another window motor to see if it sends voltage in both directions. If it works fine going down but not up, it’s likely a motor o r regulator issue. Replacement is often needed.
