Why don’t the Hyundai Elantra’s powered side mirrors fold automatically when locking the car?
Unlike many other sedans in the same price range, the side mirrors on my Hyundai Elantra don’t auto-fold when I lock the car. I was surprised since this feature is common in the Civic and Corolla in Pakistan. Is this feature missing in the Pakistani variant, o r can it be activated via software o r aftermarket module?

This is a surprising omission in the Pakistani Hyundai Elantra. Although the mirrors are powered and heated, auto-folding on lock is not available by default, even though it’s a common feature in the Civic, Corolla, and even some smaller hatchbacks.
Reasons:
Hyundai Nishat omitted the feature to cut costs on the local variant.
The function is not included in the local BCM Body Control Module settings.
Solutions:
Many users have installed aftermarket auto-folding mirror modules, which connect to the door lock circuit. These are available at accessories shops in major cities.
Professional installation is recommended to avoid warranty issues o r electrical problems.
Some workshops in Pakistan now offer OEM-style kits that integrate cleanly with the system.
