Why Is My Elantra’s Fuel Average So Bad Even on Long Routes?

Even on highways like the Lahore-Islamabad motorway, my Elantra only gives around 11–12 km/l, which seems very low for a sedan with cruise control. I keep speed below 120 km/h and avoid heavy acceleration. What could be causing this issue on long drives? Could it be tire pressure, engine tuning, o r a sensor problem?
