Why is my Hyundai Elantra jerking o r hesitating while shifting gears?

My 2021 Elantra sometimes jerks o r hesitates during gear shifts, especially in low-speed traffic. It feels like the transmission is confused o r delayed. This problem started recently after some long highway driving. Is this a common transmission issue in Elantras in Pakistan, and could it be an early sign of failure?
