Why is my Hyundai Elantra losing coolant even though there’s no visible leak under the car?
I drive a 2018 Elantra in Lahore, and I’ve noticed the coolant level keeps ping every few days. There are no puddles under the car, but I still need to top it up regularly. Could this be a hidden radiator leak? What parts should I check first?

If you’re losing coolant but not seeing puddles under the vehicle, there are a few possible reasons — some of which are common in Pakistan’s high-heat and traffic-prone cities like Lahore o r Karachi:
Possible causes:
Small radiator leak that only drips under pressure and evaporates on hot surfaces
Coolant leaking into the engine due to a failing head gasket may cause white smoke
Cracked o r leaking reservoir tank
Hose leaks at clamps that only leak under engine heat and pressure
What you should do:
Check radiator and hoses when the engine is hot carefully, to avoid burns
Look for white deposits, dried coolant stains, o r rust around the radiator and hose connections
Perform a cooling system pressure test at a workshop
Check oil dipstick — milky o r frothy oil could indicate coolant mixing with engine oil
Pro Tip: Use a UV dye coolant and blacklight available in major Pakistani auto shops to detect small leaks.
