Why is my Hyundai Elantra’s air conditioning performance weak during daytime heat?
During extreme heat above 38°C in cities like Lahore and Karachi, my Elantra’s A/C struggles to cool the cabin properly, especially during the day. I’ve checked gas levels and filters, but it still underperforms compared to other sedans. Is this a common issue in the Pakistani variant, o r could there be a compressor o r insulation problem?

This is a very common issue reported by Elantra users in cities like Lahore, Karachi, and Multan during summer. The A/C works well in the morning and evening but struggles in peak heat above 40°C.
Possible reasons include:
Compressor calibration: The compressor used in the Pakistani Elantra is tuned for fuel efficiency, not maximum cooling power.
Cabin insulation: Compared to some competitors, the Elantra has thinner cabin insulation, allowing more heat in.
Fan speed logic: The auto climate control doesn’t always increase fan speed aggressively in hot conditions.
Single-zone A/C: Rear passengers often get less cooling since there are no rear A/C vents in the Elantra.
Solutions:
Keep your cabin covered use shades and a sun reflector.
Get a cabin insulation upgrade optional, aftermarket.
Use manual A/C mode with full fan speed and re-circulation.
Some users install rear A/C vents via custom workshops.
