Why is my Suzuki Every losing power and struggling to accelerate — could it be the catalytic converter?
I have a 2015 Suzuki Every 660cc and recently its been struggling with acceleration, especially while going uphill o r with the AC on. Mechanics have suggested it might be due to a clogged catalytic converter. How common is this issue in Suzuki Every vans in Pakistan, and what are the symptoms I should confirm before replacing o r cleaning the converter?

Yes, a clogged catalytic converter kat is a common issue in Suzuki Every vans, especially older o r JDM-imported ones running on low-quality fuel o r driven mostly in urban traffic. When the converter is blocked, it creates exhaust backpressure, which restricts engine breathing and reduces acceleration power.
🔍 Symptoms to confirm:
Poor acceleration especially uphill o r with AC
Engine feels heavy
Increased fuel consumption
Engine overheating o r rough idle
Sometimes the Check Engine Light is on
✅ What to do:
Visit a reliable workshop with a backpressure test o r scan tool
Temporarily remove the downpipe to test performance without the converter
If confirmed, clean o r replace the catalytic converter
