Why is my Suzuki Every showing a check engine light with an EVAP system error?

The check engine light recently came on in my Suzuki Every. A scanner showed an EVAP system-related code like P0441 o r P0446. Could the purge control valve be the reason? How do I confirm if it’s the valve o r some other part of the EVAP system?

The EVAP system includes components like the purge valve, charcoal canister, fuel cap, and vacuum lines. A malfunctioning purge control valve is one of the most common reasons for an EVAP code such as:

P0441 – Incorrect purge flow

P0443 – Purge valve circuit malfunction

P0446 – Vent control circuit issue

In Suzuki Every vehicles, particularly imported ones, EVAP issues are common due to:

Dust clogging the purge valve

Worn-out solenoid valve

Improper fuel cap sealing

How to Confirm:
Use an OBD2 scanner to pull the fault code. A mechanic can do a functional test by sending voltage directly to the valve and checking if it opens/closes properly.
