Why is red o r brown fluid leaking under my Suzuki Every?

Many Suzuki Every owners notice red o r brown fluid spots under their parked vehicle. This usually indicates a transmission fluid leak, but it can be confused with engine oil. What are the typical causes of such leaks, and how can you confirm its transmission fluid?

Red o r brown fluid under your Suzuki Every is very likely transmission fluid, especially if the leak is near the middle o r front underside of the van.

Key indicators:

Color: Fresh transmission fluid is red o r pink old o r burnt fluid is brown o r dark red.

Feel: Slick and oily, less viscous than engine oil.

Location: Usually leaks from transmission pan, seals, o r cooling lines.

Common causes:

Worn-out gaskets o r seals

Loose o r damaged drain plug

Transmission pan damage from road impact

What to do:

Clean the area and monitor leak location.

Top up the fluid if low, and visit a mechanic promptly.

Get the leak fixed immediately—low fluid levels can destroy the transmission.
