Why Is the Paint on My Hyundai Elantra Peeling So Early in Pakistan’s Weather?
I own a Hyundai Elantra 2022 model and have noticed that the paint, especially on the roof and hood, is starting to peel. I live in Lahore, where temperatures can get quite high. Is this a common problem in Pakistan due to our climate, o r is it a manufacturing fault?

Peeling paint on relatively new Hyundai Elantras has been reported by several owners in Pakistan, particularly in high-temperature cities like Lahore, Karachi, and Multan. The issue may be due to a combination of:
Subpar paint quality o r thin clear coat used during manufacturing.
Harsh UV exposure and temperature fluctuations that stress the paint over time.
Lack of UV protection o r ceramic coating from the factory.
This can lead to oxidation and eventual peeling. While it might look like a local environmental problem, the frequency of reports suggests a potential issue with paint durability on some batches of Elantra. If the car is under warranty, you should contact your dealership and request an inspection. Some paint issues may be covered under the vehicle’s surface corrosion warranty, depending on the cause.
