Why is the power door lock in my Suzuki Every making a clicking sound but not locking?

I hear a clicking o r buzzing sound inside the door when I press the lock button, but the lock doesn’t engage. Could it be a stuck actuator o r a mechanical linkage problem? This happens more in summer o r after long drives.

A clicking o r buzzing sound without actual locking typically means the actuator is getting power but failing to move the lock. This may be due to:

Worn Internal Gears: Over time, the plastic gears inside the actuator wear out.

Jammed Lock Linkage: The metal rods o r levers inside the door may be bent o r obstructed.

Low Battery Voltage: Weak battery power can cause insufficient movement in the actuator.

Solution:
Open the door panel and inspect the actuator and linkage for binding o r damage.

Apply light lubricant to the moving parts.

If the sound continues without movement, the actuator will likely need replacement.
