The Bentley Flying Spur, formerly called the Bentley Continental Flying Spur until 2013, is a full-sized luxury sedan crafted by Bentley Motors since 2005. Designed to merge commanding performance with world-class comfort, it has become a benchmark in the ultra-luxury segment.
Production History
Built at Bentley’s Crewe factory in England, the
Flying Spur initially faced overwhelming demand. To meet global orders, the first-generation model saw 1,358 units assembled at
Volkswagen’s Transparent Factory in Dresden, Germany, before all production returned to Crewe in 2007. Following the retirement of the
Bentley Mulsanne in 2020, the Flying Spur took over as Bentley’s flagship four-door model.
What’s New for 2025?
The 2025 Flying Spur showcases Bentley’s innovation in hybrid performance. It introduces a 4.0-liter V8 ultra-performance plug-in hybrid system, combining an internal combustion engine, an electric motor, and a 25.9 kWh battery. Together, they deliver 771 bhp and 1,000 Nm of torque, enabling acceleration from 0–60 mph in 3.3 seconds. Paired with an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic and all-wheel drive, it ensures remarkable agility. Inside, upgrades include quilted leather upholstery, enhanced seating comfort, and seamless wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Specifications
The Flying Spur lineup includes the Speed and Mulliner variants. The V8 model produces 542 hp and accelerates to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds. The Speed version, powered by a W12, maintains the same sprint time but offers superior high-speed performance. A plug-in hybrid V6 option adds efficiency, generating 536 bhp and 553 lb-ft of torque when combined with its electric motor.
Interior Luxury
Bentley offers an extensive range of customization, with over 700 interior options including 22 leather colors and multiple veneer choices. Driving modes—Comfort, Bentley, Custom, and Sport—allow tailored experiences. Features include massage seats, air purification, wellness seating, USB-C charging, wireless charging, and a Touch Screen Remote for rear passengers. The Mulliner variant enhances exclusivity with premium leather, veneer finishes, and a panoramic sunroof.
Exterior Design
The Flying Spur’s bold design features an updated front bumper, rear diffuser, and signature LED headlights. Owners can select from 101+ exterior paint colors and striking 22-inch wheel designs. With all-wheel steering, torque vectoring, and Bentley Dynamic Ride, it offers remarkable stability and agility for a sedan of its size.
Infotainment and Technology
A 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen dominates the dashboard, with an optional rotating display that reveals analog dials. Standard features include Wi-Fi hotspot, wireless smartphone connectivity, and a 10-speaker system, with upgrades available to 16-speaker Bang & Olufsen or 19-speaker Naim premium setups.
