Toyota Corona 9th Generation Overview
The 9th Generation Toyota Corona was introduced in 1992 and remained in production for seven years. It was available in three variants: a 4-door sedan, a 5-door liftback, and a 5-door station wagon. The Toyota Corona was a front engine front/four-wheel drive subcompact sedan that came with a good range of engine choices.
Exterior
The exterior design of the 1992 Toyota Corona was fairly minimalistic and restrained. It featured narrow rectangular-styled side-swept headlights, a large chrome rectangular grille, a rectangular air intake, and an outward sticking bumper. The rear end housed rectangular-styled side-swept taillights and an outward sticking bumper. The 4-door station wagon was slightly longer to accommodate the rear tailgate.
Interior
The interior of the 1992 Toyota Corona was spacious and featured black plastic trim pieces. The front and rear seats were covered in fabric. Standard features included a stereo speaker audio system, air conditioning, power steering, power windows, power lock doors, and a tachometer. The SF Type I variant included keyless entry and front fog lamps, while the SF Type II variant featured leather upholstery and wood paneling. Options included a panoramic sunroof.
Engine
The 1992 Toyota Corona was available with four engine options: a 1.6-liter inline-4, a 1.8-liter inline-4, a 2.0-liter inline-4, and a 2.0-liter inline-4 diesel. The engine was paired with either a 4-speed automatic or 5-speed manual transmission.
