Car Sales Jump 39% in May 2025: Latest PAMA Report
The latest PAMA sales update presents an encouraging picture for the automobile industry in Pakistan. According to the Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association (PAMA), the monthly car sales witnessed a substantial recovery in May 2025, signaling potential momentum in the local market after a few sluggish months. This car sales report offers deep insights into Pakistan auto sales, including passenger cars, motorcycles, and commercial vehicles.

As per the PAMA car sales data, the passenger vehicle market experienced a strong rebound. After a 5% dip in April, car sales increased by 39% in May. A total of 10,949 cars were sold during the month, compared to 10,596 units in April. On a year-on-year basis, the industry witnessed an impressive 35% growth, with cumulative sales reaching 126,226 units for the first eleven months of FY25, up from 90,545 units in the same period last year. This indicates solid car market growth despite economic uncertainties.
Motorcycles and Three-Wheelers Gain Momentum
The vehicle sales in Pakistan were not limited to cars. Motorcycle and three-wheeler sales climbed 11% month-over-month in May, hitting 150,175 units, a sharp rise from 135,721 units sold in April. Year-on-year data also confirms a 26% increase, reflecting rising consumer confidence.
Commercial Vehicles: Trucks and Buses Up by 17%
In the commercial segment, sales of trucks and buses showed a healthy 17% increase, with 610 units sold in May compared to 520 units in April 2025. This growth indicates improved logistics demand and a rebound in industrial activity, further supporting the overall positive auto sales statistics.
Company-Wise Sales Trends
Looking into individual performance, Toyota Pakistan saw a massive 48% growth, selling 5,519 units, up from 3,259 vehicles in April. Honda Atlas also gained momentum with a 17% rise, delivering 2,005 units.
Hyundai Nishat recorded a notable 45% increase, selling 1,307 units compared to 900 in April. Conversely, Pak Suzuki Motors Company (PSMC) saw a 38% decline, selling 4,829 vehicles, down from 4,003.However, Sazgar Engineering (SAZEW) experienced a sharp 67% drop, delivering only 919 units, a noticeable fall from April’s 549. It is important to note that sales data for Kia Lucky Motors, Master Changan, Regal Motors, MG Motors, and Al-Haj Proton are not included, as these companies are not PAMA members.
Car-Wise Breakdown and Latest Car Data
The latest car data provides a model-specific look into performance. PSMC sold 3,409 units of Alto, 252 Cultus, 224 Wagon R, 792 Swift, 386 Ravi, and 456 Every.
Toyota Indus sold 3,814 units across Corolla, Yaris, and Corolla Cross, and another 1,015 units of Fortuner and IMVs.Honda Atlas recorded 1,870 units for City and Civic, along with 135 units of BR-V and HR-V. Hyundai Nishat sold 180 Elantra, 122 Sonata, 353 Porter, 569 Tucson, and 83 Santa Fe.
Sazgar Engineering sold 915 Haval units and 4 BAIC vehicles, contributing to overall numbers.
