Changan Introduces Latest M9 Sherpa Model in Pakistan

Pakistan’s automotive industry is gradually introducing new models and upgrades. Recently, Indus Motor Company (IMC) lowered the price of the Corolla Cross, and Honda Atlas followed by offering a special 7 upgrades package for its Honda City 1.2L CVT. Now, Changan Pakistan is making headlines with the announcement of a new variant of its popular loader vehicle, the M9 Sherpa. This new development brings excitement to the commercial vehicle market.

New M9 Sherpa Variant

Changan Pakistan is set to soft-launch a new variant of the M9 Sherpa, named the "Sherpa Power 1.2L." This new model will come with a 1200cc engine and a 5-speed manual transmission, a significant upgrade from the current M9’s 1000cc engine. Another key addition in this new variant is power steering, which is absent in the existing 1.0L M9 Sherpa, making this version more appealing for customers looking for enhanced performance and driving ease.

Price of the New Variant

Changan Pakistan has announced that the new M9 Sherpa Power 1.2L will be introduced at an initial price of Rs. 2,254,000. In comparison, the price of the current 1.0L M9 is Rs. 2,179,000. The price difference of Rs. 75,000 offers customers the advantage of a larger engine and the addition of power steering, providing better value for a slightly higher investment.

M9 Sherpa Specifications

The Changan M9 Sherpa, first introduced in 2018, is a popular commercial loader in Pakistan. It has an overall length of 4560mm, a width of 1645mm, and a height of 1890mm, with a wheelbase measuring 2900mm. Safety features include a 3-point safety belt and steering lock. The vehicle’s tyres are 175/70R with 14-inch rims, and it has a fuel tank capacity of 40 liters. The braking system consists of disc brakes at the front and drum brakes at the rear, supported by a vacuum booster for better control.

Features of the M9 Sherpa

The M9 Sherpa’s features include a Macpherson independent front suspension and a Leaf spring-dependent rear suspension. The cargo box dimensions are 2750mm in length, 1520mm in width, and 370mm in height. Additional features include a speaker system, cupholders, sun visors for the driver and passenger, a radio with AUX and clock functions, and body-colored side mirrors. Optional fog lamps are also available, making the M9 a well-rounded option for commercial use.
