Farewell to Suzuki Bolan | Goodbye to the Famous Carry Dabba

The end has arrived for the once-popular Suzuki Bolan in Pakistan, marking the close of a long chapter in the country's automobile history. After years of circulating rumors about its discontinuation, the news has now been confirmed. A photo went viral online, displaying an incomplete unit of Bolan with a banner that read: “Bye Bye Y88V Bolan,” alongside the final chassis number 01151691. A company representative verified the information, stating, “This was indeed the last production batch.”

Suzuki Bolan’s Final Goodbye

For decades, the Suzuki Bolan—widely recognized as the "Carry Dabba"—dominated the roads in Pakistan. However, the model is being phased out to make room for more advanced vehicles like the Suzuki Every. Over the years, consumers increasingly voiced dissatisfaction with the Suzuki Bolan Discontinued due to its dated design, absence of modern features, and lack of basic safety measures. Many only continued purchasing the vehicle due to a lack of alternative options until the Changan Karvaan entered the market. The Bolan had long been criticized for its old-fashioned look, limited comfort, and outdated technology, but now Suzuki has responded to customer demands.

Enter Suzuki Every: The Future

Back in 2021, there were speculations that the Bolan would be discontinued following a directive from the Lahore High Court, which instructed automakers to incorporate airbags in all locally assembled vehicles. At the time, Suzuki denied these claims. In 2022, the company briefly introduced an air-conditioned version of the Suzuki Bolan, but it was quickly taken off the market within the same year.

Now, with the Bolan officially retired, its successor has been confirmed as the Suzuki Every. The Every was initially displayed at the Lahore Auto Show, but its release was delayed due to various issues, including restrictions on the import of CKD kits and financial complications like the ban on LCs (Letters of Credit). However, Suzuki has now confirmed that the launch of the Suzuki Every Launch Date will take place in October 2024, marking the official end of the Bolan and the beginning of a new era for the Every.
