Getting Fancy Number Plates Now Easier in Punjab

The Punjab government has made it significantly easier for citizens to obtain fancy number plates by launching an advanced online number plate bidding system. This new initiative covers all types of vehicles, including motorcycles, motorcars, and commercial vehicles, making the process more accessible and transparent for everyone.

Developed through a collaboration between the Punjab Excise Department and the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB), the e-Auction platform can be accessed via a user-friendly mobile app and web portal. This convenient setup enables residents to apply fancy plates and take part in the bidding process without the need to visit government offices or rely on agents.

The online bidding process for Punjab number plates will remain open until July 30, 2025, allowing ample time for interested users to participate. According to PITB Chairman Faisal Yousaf, the initiative is designed to promote fairness and eliminate traditional hurdles in vehicle registration Punjab.

“This e-Auction ensures full transparency and provides real-time updates to all users,” Yousaf said. He added that successful bidders receive immediate notifications, eliminating unnecessary delays and enhancing the overall efficiency of the Punjab plate system.

One of the main goals of the new system is to remove the influence of agent mafias and reduce corruption. By offering a seamless digital process, the government is building trust and promoting public participation in acquiring custom number plates and VIP number plates without any hassle.
