Govt. to Provide 41k Subsidized Electric Bikes, Rickshaws
The federal government has officially launched a new initiative offering subsidized electric bikes and rickshaws under the Pakistan EV subsidy program, aiming to promote affordable and eco-friendly transport. This effort, part of the Government electric bike scheme 2025, was marked by the introduction of electronic balloting for applicants nationwide.
Federal Secretary for Industries and Production Saif Anjum inaugurated the computerized draw under the supervision of the Engineering Development Board (EDB). The event was attended by senior officials, including CEO Khuda Bux and Additional Secretary Asif Saeed Lughmani. The launch highlights Pakistan’s growing shift toward sustainable mobility.
Through this scheme, a total of 41,000 electric bikes and rickshaws were allotted, including 40,000 two-wheelers and 1,000 three-wheelers, to successful applicants from all regions of Pakistan, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Jammu & Kashmir. The ministry confirmed that more than 269,000 applications were received, showing the huge public demand for subsidized electric bikes in Pakistan and the subsidized rickshaws scheme Pakistan.
The entire process was managed through the PAVE Online Portal to ensure transparency. A dedicated committee supervised the computerized balloting, and applicants can check results using their CNIC or application ID. Original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) will handle deliveries, warranties, and after-sales support, ensuring a smooth customer experience under the Pakistan electric bike subsidy program.
In terms of financial benefits, two-wheeler buyers will receive a subsidy of Rs. 50,000 on bank leasing and Rs. 80,000 on self-financed purchases. For electric rickshaws, the subsidy is set at Rs. 200,000 via leasing and Rs. 400,000 for self-financing. This step makes cheap electric bikes Pakistan 2025 and rickshaws accessible to a wider population through the electric bike government scheme Pakistan.
Officials emphasized that the program supports the National Electric Vehicle Policy (NEVP) by reducing carbon emissions by 4.5 million tons annually, saving nearly $1 billion in fuel costs, and generating over 100,000 green jobs. The Govt electric vehicle scheme Pakistan not only boosts clean energy adoption but also strengthens the country’s economic and environmental future.
