Subsidies Announced for Electric Bikes, Rickshaws, and Cars

The Government of Pakistan has officially introduced a major EV Subsidy Scheme Pakistan under the Electric Vehicle Policy 2025 Pakistan. This initiative, announced by the Ministry of Industries and Production, aims to make Electric Bikes Subsidy Pakistan, Govt Subsidy on Electric Rickshaws, and Electric Cars Subsidy Pakistan more accessible and affordable for the public. The plan is part of the broader Government Electric Vehicle Plan, focusing on sustainable mobility and reduced fuel dependency.

Subsidy Allocations
In the first phase, covering the fiscal year 2025–26, the government will provide subsidized rates for:

  • 40,000 electric motorcycles with an Electric Bikes Price with Subsidy of Rs. 20,000 each.
  • 1,000 electric rickshaws with an Electric Rickshaw Subsidy Program of Rs. 80,000 each.
  • 1,000 electric cars with Subsidized Electric Cars Pakistan receiving Rs. 290,000 each.

The total budget set aside for this phase amounts to Rs. 880 million, highlighting the government’s strong commitment to the EV Government Support Pakistan initiative.

Eligibility Criteria
This program is designed to assist communities that struggle with transport affordability. Eligible applicants include:

  • Students
  • Women
  • Factory workers
  • Low-income individuals
  • Rural residents
  • Persons with disabilities

By focusing on these groups, the government ensures that the benefits of the EV Subsidy Scheme Pakistan directly reach those who need them most.

Application Process
Applicants can apply online through the official PAVE website (www.pave.gov.pk). Required documents include:

  • A valid CNIC
  • A driving license (where applicable)
  • Additional documents as specified on the platform

The application deadline is September 30, 2025, and a digital balloting system will ensure transparency in the selection process.

Policy Implementation
This scheme falls under the Pakistan Accelerated Vehicle Electrification Program (PAVE) and will be implemented by the Engineering Development Board. The Government Electric Vehicle Plan aims to:

  • Reduce emissions from traditional vehicles
  • Provide affordable transport solutions
  • Promote cleaner and greener energy alternatives
