Are plastic radiator parts o r hose joints on Tiggo 8 Pro prone to damage from over‑pressurization o r poor maintenance?

The coolant tank seemed slightly bulged before the leak started, and now there’s evidence of seepage at the joint between radiator and hose. Could a weakened plastic radiator o r overly tight clamps — perhaps from servicing — cause cracks o r seal failure? What maintenance o r inspection advice should I follow to prevent such radiator leaks before they become serious?

Yes, plastic radiators and hose joints are sensitive to:

Over-tightened hose clamps – Can create stress points that crack the plastic.

Excessive pressure – A failing radiator cap o r clogged system can over-pressurize and weaken plastic tanks.

Aging and heat cycles – Continuous expansion and contraction can cause leaks at weak points.

Prevention:

Ensure proper torque on hose clamps.

Replace the radiator cap according to schedule.

Inspect hoses and joints regularly.

Use the correct coolant and avoid overfilling to maintain proper pressure.
