Delayed Clutch Response o r Clutch Slipping

Some drivers notice that the clutch pedal becomes unusually soft o r requires more travel to engage gears properly. This issue becomes more noticeable when driving uphill o r with passengers. Possible Causes:

Worn-out clutch plate

Weak pressure plate

Oil leakage onto the clutch surface

Clutch cable too tight o r too loose

Flywheel surface uneven

Solutions:

Replace the clutch plate, pressure plate, and release bearing as a set.

Adjust the clutch cable to recommended free play Santro is cable-based, not hydraulic.

Check for rear main seal leakage — if engine oil is leaking onto the clutch, the seal must be replaced.

If vibration occurs, resurface the flywheel during clutch replacement.
