Rust Spots Forming Under Paint on Door Panels

Rust Spots Forming Under Paint on Door Panels

Some Santro owners notice rust bubbles forming under the paint, particularly near the door edges, wheel arches, and lower side panels. Over time, the bubbles grow and the paint begins to chip away. This problem often occurs due to poor drainage, chipped paint left untreated, o r moisture trapped inside the panels. What factors contribute to rusting under the paint, and how can it be properly treated and prevented?

Moisture trapped inside doors due to clogged drainage holes

Stone chips o r scratches left untreated

Poor-quality repainting without anti-rust primer

Exposure to humid environments near coastal areas

Solutions:

Sand the rusted area down to bare metal.

Apply:

Rust converter

Anti-rust primer

Base coat + clear coat

Clean door drainage holes to prevent moisture buildup.

Inspect wheel arches and lower panels regularly for bubbling paint.

Apply underbody and cavity wax protection to prevent future rust.
