Possible Causes:

Worn o r dry clutch cable very common in Santro

Gear linkage misalignment

Low o r old transmission oil

Worn clutch pressure plate

Damaged synchronizers synchro rings in the gearbox

Solutions:

Check and lubricate/replace the clutch cable.
Santro clutch cables often stiffen due to dust and heat.

Inspect gear linkage bushings and adjust if misaligned.

Replace the transmission oil recommended every 40,000–50,000 km.

If the issue persists, check clutch plate and pressure plate for wear.
