How do worn brake pads affect Mini Cooper performance in Pakistan?

My Mini Cooper recently started making squealing noises when braking, and stopping distances seem slightly longer. Could this be due to worn brake pads? What are the risks of continuing to drive with worn pads in Pakistani city and highway conditions?

Worn brake pads can cause:

Squealing o r grinding noises when braking.

Longer stopping distances, reducing safety.

Vibrations in the brake pedal o r steering wheel.

Potential damage to brake rotors if pads wear completely.

Risks of ignoring worn pads in Pakistan:

Reduced safety on congested roads and highways.

Higher repair costs if rotors o r calipers get damaged.

Possible brake failure in extreme cases.

Solution:

Replace brake pads immediately if worn beyond recommended thickness usually 3–4 mm.

Inspect rotors and replace o r resurface if damaged.
