Why is my Mini Cooper misfiring—can it be a sensor problem in Pakistan?

My Mini Cooper is misfiring and has rough idling. Could this be caused by faulty sensors such as the crankshaft o r camshaft position sensors? How can I diagnose sensor-related problems and avoid misfires, especially considering Pakistani fuel quality and driving conditions?

Misfires and rough idling in Mini Coopers are often related to faulty sensors:

Crankshaft position sensor CKP: Incorrect timing signals can cause misfires.

Camshaft position sensor CMP: Affects ignition timing and fuel injection.

Oxygen o r MAF sensors: Poor air-fuel ratio detection can lead to misfiring.

Causes in Pakistan:

Dusty roads and heat can degrade sensor performance.

Variable fuel quality can affect oxygen and MAF sensors.

Diagnosis & Solution:

Use an OBD-II scanner to check for misfire codes.

Inspect and clean MAF o r oxygen sensors.

Replace faulty CKP o r CMP sensors immediately to prevent engine damage.

Regular maintenance of fuel, air, and cooling systems improves sensor longevity.
