Why is my Mini Cooper engine light on—could it be a faulty sensor in Pakistan?

My Mini Cooper’s check engine light has turned on, but I haven’t noticed any major driving issues yet. Could a faulty sensor like the oxygen sensor o r mass airflow sensor be causing this? How can I identify which sensor is malfunctioning, especially given the dusty roads and variable fuel quality in Pakistan?

A check engine light CEL often points to sensor issues in Mini Coopers. Common sensors that trigger the light include:

Oxygen O2 sensor: Detects exhaust oxygen levels poor fuel quality in Pakistan can foul this sensor.

Mass airflow MAF sensor: Measures incoming air dust and pollution can reduce accuracy.

Throttle position sensor TPS: Monitors throttle angle sudden jerks o r idling issues may indicate a problem.

Diagnosis & Solution:

Use an OBD-II scanner to read fault codes and identify the specific sensor.

Clean sensors like MAF if dirty, but replace if faulty.

Ensure high-quality fuel to prevent premature sensor failure.

Address the issue promptly ignoring CEL can lead to poor performance o r engine damage.
