New battery in my United Bravo not charging properly — alternator issue?
I installed a brand-new AGS battery in my 2021 United Bravo about two weeks ago, but it still struggles to start in the morning. When I checked with a voltmeter, the battery voltage doesn’t increase much when the engine is running, which makes me suspect the alternator isn’t charging properly. Are alternator o r voltage regulator problems common in Bravo? What’s the proper way to check if the alternator is working fine o r needs repair/replacement?

Measure Voltage Properly:
Use a multimeter on the battery terminals.
Engine OFF: should read around 12.4–12.7V.
Engine ON idling: should rise to 13.8–14.4V.
If it stays below 13V, the alternator o r voltage regulator isn’t charging correctly.
Check Alternator Belt Tension:
A loose o r worn belt can slip, causing weak charging. Tighten o r replace if needed — Bravo’s small engine makes belt issues easy to overlook.
Alternator Brushes / Regulator:
In many Bravo cases, brush wear o r regulator failure inside the alternator causes weak charging. You can rebuild the alternator locally usually costs around Rs. 2,000–3,500 instead of replacing the whole unit.
Bad Wiring o r Fuse:
The connection between the alternator and battery may have corrosion o r a weak fuse link. A mechanic can check the continuity and replace any burnt wires o r terminals.
Aftermarket Electrical Load:
Extra accessories like sound systems, HID lights, o r amplifiers can overload the small alternator, preventing proper charging. Try disconnecting them temporarily to test.
If after testing you find the alternator output below 13.5V, it’s better to repair o r replace the alternator assembly — many Bravo owners report this as the main cause of battery issues.
