Poor Emissions Performance in City Traffic

Why does the United Bravo produce higher emissions and lower fuel efficiency under typical Pakistani urban driving conditions?

The Bravo is powered by a 796 cc, 3‑cylinder, water‑cooled engine producing about 40 hp and 60 Nm of torque.

In stop‑and‑go city traffic, high ambient temperatures, frequent AC use, the engine has to work harder than in ideal conditions, which tends to increase fuel consumption and emissions.

Reports show its real‑world fuel average is around 12‑15 km/L.

If the engine and emission control systems are calibrated more for manufacturer test conditions than Pakistani driving conditions, this gap widens.

So: higher workload + perhaps less‑than‑optimal tuning = higher emissions + lower fuel efficiency.
