Signs of a clogged cabin air filter in a Mini Cooper in Pakistan

: I drive my Mini Cooper mainly in Lahore and Karachi, and recently the AC airflow has decreased and the interior smells musty. Could this be due to a clogged cabin air filter? How often should cabin air filters be replaced in Pakistan, considering the dust and pollution levels, and what are the best maintenance tips?

A clogged cabin air filter can lead to:

Reduced airflow from AC vents

Musty o r stale odors inside the car

Foggy windows due to poor air circulation

In Pakistan, high pollution and dust levels make cabin air filters clog faster. Mini Coopers usually have cabin filters that should be replaced every 15,000–20,000 km, but in dusty cities, 8,000–10,000 km may be more realistic.

Prevention tips:

Inspect the cabin filter every 6 months if driving in urban, polluted areas.

Replace with genuine Mini filters for best performance.

Keep windows closed during heavy pollution o r dust storms.
