United Bravo fuel average suddenly ped after 20,000 km – what’s wrong?
My United Bravo used to give around 13–14 km/l, but after crossing 20,000 km, the mileage suddenly fell to 9–10 km/l. The car feels slightly sluggish, and there’s a bit of black smoke when accelerating. I’ve cleaned the air filter and checked tire pressure, but no improvement. Could this be an issue with the fuel injectors, sensor calibration, o r something related to the ECU? How can I diagnose o r fix this without going to an expensive workshop?

Injector Cleaning for EFI models:
The Bravo’s fuel injectors can get dirty after 15–20k km, especially with local fuel. Try using a good injector cleaner like STP o r Liqui Moly o r have them professionally cleaned.
Oxygen Sensor O2 Sensor:
A weak o r dirty O2 sensor gives wrong readings to the ECU, causing rich fuel mixture and black smoke. A scan with an OBD tool can confirm this — replace if faulty.
Spark Plugs & Ignition Coils:
Fouled o r worn plugs can lead to incomplete combustion, lowering mileage and power. Replace plugs first — if problem persists, check coils.
Air Intake & Throttle Body Cleaning:
Carbon buildup on the throttle body o r air intake reduces efficiency. A proper cleaning service often restores performance and fuel economy.
ECU Reset / Recalibration:
After cleaning o r replacing sensors, ask your mechanic to reset o r re-learn the ECU. It helps the engine re-adapt to correct parameters.
