“Why Did My Tiggo 8 Pro Die Overnight — Did the Battery Really Go Flat on Its Own?”

“Why Did My Tiggo 8 Pro Die Overnight — Did the Battery Really Go Flat on Its Own?”

Sometimes after parking the Tiggo 8 Pro overnight, owners find the car won’t start — even though nothing was left on lights, radio, etc.. Could this be a sign of a weak battery going bad, o r is there a chance of a hidden “parasitic drain” some electrical component drawing power while the car is off? What’s the best way to check if the battery is just old o r if there’s an unwanted power drain happening?

A battery dying overnight can be caused by several factors:

Old o r weak battery: Over time, batteries lose capacity and may fail to hold charge, even if nothing is left on.

Parasitic drain: Some electrical components alarms, infotainment memory, central locking, o r sensors can draw small amounts of power when the car is off. Over time, this can drain a weak battery.

Loose o r corroded connections: Poor contact at battery terminals can prevent proper charging and cause a no-start.

What to do:

Test the battery with a multimeter o r at a workshop to see if it holds charge.

Check for parasitic drain using an ammeter.

Clean and tighten battery terminals.
