Why does my Mini Cooper overheat in heavy traffic in Pakistan?

I drive my Mini Cooper mostly in congested city traffic in Karachi and Lahore, and sometimes the engine temperature rises above normal. Could this be due to radiator issues, coolant problems, o r the hot weather conditions in Pakistan? What should I check first to prevent engine overheating?

Engine overheating in city traffic is common in Mini Coopers, especially in Pakistani cities with high temperatures and stop-and-go congestion. Possible causes:

Radiator blockage o r dirt: Dust and debris can reduce cooling efficiency.

Coolant issues: Low levels o r degraded coolant can’t dissipate heat effectively.

Faulty radiator fan: Electric fans may not engage properly, especially in older Mini Cooper models.

Thermostat problems: A stuck thermostat can prevent coolant circulation.

Prevention and Solutions:

Regularly check coolant level and quality.

Inspect the radiator for dust, debris, o r leaks clean if necessary.

Test the radiator fan function replace if not working properly.

Avoid prolonged idling in extreme heat and ensure airflow to the radiator is not blocked.
