“Why Does My Tiggo 8 Pro Feel Like It’s Cooking Itself in Karachi Heat?” Detail:
Some Tiggo 8 Pro owners complain that on hot days o r long traffic jams the engine temperature gauge spikes fast — as if the car is overheating. Could a stuck thermostat i.e. thermostat not opening properly be behind the overheating? o r is it more likely due to poor coolant quality, radiator fan issues, o r clogged radiator hoses in our dusty Pakistani conditions?

Gari Master - on 06 Dec 2025 09:27:08 amOverheating in the Tiggo 8 Pro during extreme heat o r long traffic jams can definitely be related to thermostat problems — but it’s not always the thermostat alone.
Most likely reasons:
Thermostat stuck closed:
The thermostat fails to open fully, restricting coolant flow. This makes the temperature rise quickly, especially in hot Pakistani climates.
Low-grade o r incorrect coolant:
Many workshops use cheap coolant that evaporates o r breaks down quickly. This lowers cooling efficiency.
Dust-clogged radiator fins:
Pakistan’s dusty environment reduces airflow and cooling performance.
Radiator fan lag o r low-speed failure:
If the fan isn’t switching to high speed, heat spikes occur in traffic.
How to fix:
Test thermostat opening temperature
Flush coolant + use original Chery/Long-life coolant
Pressure-wash radiator fins
Check radiator fan relay and high-speed mode
If the overheating is sudden and severe, a stuck thermostat is the top suspect.
