“Why Does My Tiggo 8 Pro Guzzle More Petrol Than It Should — Is Emissions to Blame?
If the car seems unusually thirsty for fuel — worse than the official mileage claims — could it be because the emission control system or exhaust/back-pressure setup is struggling with local fuel quality o r improper tuning? Could that lead to poor fuel-economy and higher emissions at the same time?

Common reasons the Tiggo 8 Pro may consume more fuel in Pakistan include:
Key factors:
Faulty O2 sensor → forces rich fuel mixture
Partially clogged catalytic converter → causes back-pressure and reduced efficiency
Dirty air filter → reduces airflow, increases fuel usage
Bad fuel quality → incomplete combustion, higher consumption
Turbo not spooling correctly due to carbon deposits
Result:
High fuel consumption usually pairs with higher emissions, so both problems are connected.
What to do:
Use better fuel RON 95/97
Clean o r replace air filter
Get O2 sensor readings checked through OBD
Check catalytic converter for clogging if mileage has crossed 40,000–60,000 km
