“Why Does My Tiggo 8 Pro Overheat When AC Is On High and the City Crawl Gets Worse?”

“Why Does My Tiggo 8 Pro Overheat When AC Is On High and the City Crawl Gets Worse?”

When the air conditioner is running full blast in heavy traffic like during rush‑hour o r long stops, some Tiggo 8 Pro users report the cooling fan running constantly and engine heat rising — even though coolant level seems fine. Could the added load from AC + low airflow at idle be too much for the cooling system? Is there a common design o r maintenance flaw that causes overheating in these conditions?

Increased load on engine: AC compressor consumes extra power, generating heat.

Reduced airflow at idle: Fans must work harder if fan motor o r relay is weak, cooling is insufficient.

Clogged condenser: Dust and debris on the AC condenser in front of the radiator reduce heat dissipation.

What to do:

Inspect radiator and condenser for blockages o r dirt.

Check fan operation and fan relay.

Avoid heavy AC load in extreme traffic if engine is already hot.
