“Why Does My Tiggo 8 Pro Smoke Like It’s Trying to Signal a Fault?”

“Why Does My Tiggo 8 Pro Smoke Like It’s Trying to Signal a Fault?”

Some owners worry when they see light grey o r black smoke coming from the exhaust — especially during start-up o r heavy acceleration. Is this a sign of incomplete fuel combustion, bad fuel quality, o r a faulty sensor / injector? Could local fuel o r maintenance habits be pushing the Tiggo 8 Pro’s engine to misbehave?

Light grey o r black exhaust smoke in the Tiggo 8 Pro usually points to incomplete combustion, and in Pakistan this is most often caused by:

Most common causes:

Poor-quality fuel very common in Pakistan turbo engines are sensitive to octane quality

Dirty o r partially clogged fuel injectors

Over-rich fuel mixture caused by a malfunctioning oxygen O2 sensor

Turbocharger carbon buildup

Low-quality engine oil causing faint grey smoke on cold start

If the smoke happens only on cold start, it’s usually minor and normal.
If it happens during acceleration, it’s worth checking fuel injectors, spark plugs, and O2 sensors.

Best action:

Switch to higher-octane fuel RON 95 o r 97

Use quality engine oil

Get an OBD scan to confirm if any mixture/airflow sensor is misbehaving
