“Why Does My Tiggo 8 Pro’s Battery Keep Dying — Is the Alternator Going Bad?”

Some Tiggo 8 Pro owners notice that their battery dies even after a short drive, o r the car struggles to start after just a day o r two. Could this mean the alternator isn’t charging the battery properly? o r might this be a weak battery showing symptoms that mimic alternator failure? What checks should be done voltage output, wiring, belt, etc. to tell the difference?

A repeatedly dead battery often points to charging system issues, including the alternator:

Alternator not charging: The alternator may be failing to maintain proper voltage usually 13.5–14.5 V, so the battery discharges even during driving.

Weak battery: Sometimes an old o r weak battery shows similar symptoms it can’t hold charge, making it look like alternator failure.

Loose o r worn drive belt: If the belt driving the alternator slips, charging is reduced.

Corroded o r loose connections: Battery terminals o r alternator wiring can prevent proper charging.

How to check:

Measure battery voltage with the engine off should be ~12.5 V and engine running should rise to ~13.5–14.5 V.

Inspect the drive belt and connections.

Replace battery only if alternator is confirmed working properly.
