Why does one tyre show “scalloped” o r “patchy” wear instead of even tread?

I recently noticed that one of my tyres on the Tiggo 8 Pro has irregular wear — some parts of the tread are more worn almost wavy / scalloped, while other parts look relatively new. This happens even though all tyres are the same age and have been rotated. Could this be a sign of worn shock absorbers/struts o r suspension bushings, o r maybe wheel imbalance? How dangerous is this pattern, and how soon should I have suspension and balancing checked?

Patchy o r scalloped wear usually indicates dynamic problems like imbalance o r suspension deterioration:

Wheel imbalance: A tyre that is not balanced properly will “hop” o r vibrate, causing wavy wear patterns.

Worn shock absorbers/struts: Poor damping allows the tyre to bounce excessively over bumps, creating uneven wear.

Damaged bushings o r mounts: Loose suspension components transmit irregular forces to the tyre.

Action:

Have all wheels balanced properly.

Inspect and replace worn shocks, struts, o r bushings.

Rotate tyres and monitor wear patterns to prevent accelerated damage.
