Why is coolant dripping under my Tiggo 8 Pro when the engine is hot?

I’ve noticed small puddles of coolant under the car only after driving for 20–30 minutes in Pakistani summer heat. The leak seems to appear when the engine reaches operating temperature and then stops when I switch off the car and it cools down. What could cause such temperature‑dependent radiator leaks? Could it be a faulty hose clamp, radiator gasket failure, o r thermal expansion cracking in plastic components?

This type of leak is often temperature-dependent because metal and plastic parts expand when hot. Common causes include:

Loose o r damaged hose clamps – As the engine heats up, hoses expand and coolant may leak at the connection points.

Cracked plastic radiator tanks – The Tiggo 8 Pro uses plastic tanks on the radiator which can develop micro-cracks over time.

Radiator core leaks – Internal corrosion o r physical damage can cause coolant to escape when pressure builds during normal operation.

Faulty radiator cap – If the pressure valve in the cap fails, it can allow coolant to escape when hot.

Action: Inspect hoses, clamps, radiator tanks, and the cap. Pressure-test the system to pinpoint the leak.
