Superior Alternatives To Accidental Imported 660cc Cars: Suzuki Alto 2024
Jan 23 2025The exterior of the Suzuki Alto 2024 is reasonable, while the dual-tone interior of the VXL variant is appealing, featuring an LCD and an in-dash gear lever. Considering its 660cc engine and excellent fuel economy, the car doesn’t feel underpowered for city driving. It is designed as a city car, so expecting high performance on highways o r motorways is unrealistic.
Before purchasing the Alto, I reviewed the auction sheets of several imported Japanese 660cc cars and discovered that 90% of them were accidental and repaired after import. For peace of mind, opting for a brand-new Alto is a better choice.
While the build quality could be improved, Suzuki has a monopoly in the local 660cc segment, with no real competitors, allowing them to charge higher prices. A major drawback is the engine noise in the cabin, which the company should address. However, I managed to reduce the noise by installing a bonnet insulator and 7D floor mats. Full floor matting can further improve cabin sound insulation.
Overall, I am satisfied with the features the Alto offers despite its shortcomings.
