A Comfortless Ride With Performance Drawbacks
Nov 14 2024The Suzuki Bolan, often referred to as the Hi-roof, is known for its practicality, but it does come with significant discomfort, especially in terms of ride quality. Ive used this car for a year, and while it offers solid basic performance—good fuel economy, low maintenance costs, and decent resale value—it still leaves me wondering why we place so much value on it when compared to fully-equipped Japanese cars.
I bought it as a second owner in 2009 for 0.42 million, and sold it in 2016 for 0.4 million. Despite the reasonable depreciation, I still find myself questioning why people choose the Bolan over more feature-rich Japanese imports, which offer better comfort, safety features, and overall value for the price. The Bolan’s simplicity and practicality are undeniable, but when compared to its Japanese counterparts, it really doesn’t seem to offer the same level of value.
