Beyond The Vigo
Nov 14 2024From the outside, the Hilux Invincible may look similar to a standard Vigo, but in reality, it’s a whole different animal.
The build quality is far superior, giving it a much more premium feel. The in-cabin sound is refined, resembling that of an imported car, which is a stark contrast to the local Vigo. The 1KD 5-speed engine runs effortlessly, offering plenty of power for any driving situation.
The suspension is noticeably softer compared to the local Vigo, making for a much more comfortable ride. The Invincible comes with 8 airbags, which is impressive, especially considering most local cars only have 2. It also features light washers, a feature not even available on the 2021 Revo V. The climate control system is modern and far more advanced than the old knobs in the Vigo. You also get an upgraded AC and heater, providing better comfort with more features.
Advantages:
The Hilux Invincible can use almost all Vigo parts, such as AC, suspension, and engine components, making maintenance easier.
The cabin is quiet, something that the local Vigo lacks, which can make long journeys much more pleasant.
Disadvantages:
The price is a big factor. The 2012 Invincible costs nearly the same as a 2016 Vigo, which can be hard to justify for some.
Final Verdict:
You really do get what you pay for. While the Hilux Invincible is pricier, it offers far superior quality, comfort, and features compared to the local Vigo. If youre willing to invest in the added premium experience, its definitely worth it.
