BYD Denza Z9 GT Launching on September 20
BYD's luxury brand, Denza, is gearing up for the global launch of its Z9 GT, a versatile electric vehicle (EV) that will be offered in both plug-in hybrid (PHEV) and fully electric (BEV) versions. Set to debut on September 20th, the Z9 GT is poised to compete with premium wagons by delivering high performance, luxurious features, and competitive pricing. Denza is aiming to make a strong impact in the high-end automotive market with this new model.
Power and Performance
The Z9 GT PHEV is equipped with a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine paired with three electric motors, producing a combined power of 640 kW (858 hp). This makes it one of the most powerful hybrid vehicles available. The PHEV variant boasts an impressive range of 1,100 km, and when running solely on gasoline, it maintains a fuel consumption rate of 5.6 liters per 100 km. The combination of power and efficiency makes it a strong contender in the hybrid market.
BEV Version and Speed
The fully electric BEV version of the Z9 GT takes performance to an even higher level, delivering 710 kW (952 hp) with three motors. It promises a range of 630 km and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds, slightly faster than the PHEV model’s 3.6 seconds. This makes the BEV version a formidable competitor for other high-performance electric vehicles, with its mix of speed and range.
Design and Dimensions
Designed by Wolfgang Egger, the Z9 GT features a striking front grille and a sleek rear light bar that extends across the width of the vehicle. Its dimensions, measuring 5,180 mm in length and 1,990 mm in width, along with a wheelbase of 3,125 mm, give it a commanding presence on the road. The PHEV version is slightly longer at 5,195 mm due to its extended bumpers. With its larger size, the Z9 GT stands tall against rivals like the Porsche Panamera.
Luxurious Interior and Pricing
Inside the Z9 GT, technology and luxury blend seamlessly with multiple digital displays on the dashboard and door panels. A unique feature is the inclusion of dual refrigerators, one for the front and another larger one at the rear, capable of storing up to four wine bottles. However, this added luxury reduces trunk space and limits the folding of the second-row seats. Chinese customers can pre-order the Z9 GT in five trims, with prices ranging from RMB 339,800 (€43,030) to RMB 419,800 (€53,200). European markets will also see the Z9 GT soon, with expectations of disrupting the premium EV segment.
