BYD Dolphin Facelift Introduced Featuring New Motor Options

The BYD Dolphin Facelift has been revealed in China with minor design updates and the addition of a powerful BYD Dolphin new motor option producing 174 hp. This revamped model aims to enhance the appeal of BYD's popular electric vehicle lineup. Priced between 99,800 and 129,800 yuan ($13,700 to $17,900), the 2025 version builds on the success of the previous models, which saw impressive sales figures, including 21,712 units sold in November and a cumulative 176,560 units for 2024.

Enhanced Design and Features

The updated BYD Dolphin Facelift showcases a revised front fascia and a fresh design at the rear, replacing the “Build Your Dream” taillight logo with the iconic “BYD” logo. The vehicle's dimensions have increased slightly, now measuring 4,280 mm in length, 1,770 mm in width, and 1,570 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,700 mm, which is 155 mm longer than its predecessor. Buyers can also choose between 195/60R16 and 205/50R17 tire options for better customization.

Motor Options and Performance

The BYD Dolphin new motor lineup now includes three distinct configurations:

Model TZ180XSF: 94 hp
Model TZ200XSW: 174 hp
Model TZ200XSQ: 201 hp

All trims come equipped with BYD's Blade LFP battery technology and boast top speeds of either 150 km/h or 160 km/h, depending on the configuration. These BYD Dolphin motor options ensure a wide range of performance and affordability for EV enthusiasts.

Added Features and Optional Upgrades

The BYD Dolphin upgraded motor models also offer a variety of optional features, including a panoramic sunroof, radar systems, multiple cameras, a black roof, rear privacy glass, and customizable rims with a high-gloss finish. These upgrades complement the sleek new design and expand the vehicle's appeal to a broader market segment.

Battery and Range Specifications

The BYD Dolphin latest update includes two power trims tailored for different driving needs. The lower-powered variant comes with a 94 hp motor and a 44.928 kWh battery, offering a range of 420 km. Meanwhile, the high-powered version features a 201 hp motor and a 60.48 kWh battery, delivering an impressive range of 520 km. These BYD Dolphin New Motor Option configurations ensure customers can choose a model that suits their lifestyle and budget.
