Eid Travel: Motorway Police Releases 8-Point Safety Advisory

As Eid holidays lead to a significant rise in traffic across motorways and national highways, the National Highways and Motorway Police (NHMP) has released a detailed Eid travel advisory to ensure smooth and safe travel for all commuters.

Essential Eid Travel Tips from Motorway Police
To help travelers navigate busy routes safely, the Motorway Police Eid advisory highlights key safety measures:

  1. Vehicle Maintenance Checks: Before hitting the road, thoroughly check your vehicle’s tires, brakes, headlights, engine oil, and coolant levels. Proper maintenance plays a vital role in Eid road safety.
  2. Adhere to Speed Limits: Observing the speed limits is critical, especially during heavy traffic. Overspeeding can cause serious accidents. The Eid traffic rules strictly enforce these limits.
  3. Seat Belt and Helmet Use: All passengers must wear seat belts at all times. Additionally, motorcyclists should always wear helmets to comply with the Motorway Police advisory and boost safety.
  4. Maintain Safe Distance: Drivers should keep a safe gap between vehicles, allowing enough space to stop quickly if needed. This is one of the most important Eid safety tips to avoid collisions.
  5. Follow Lane Discipline: Staying in your designated lane and respecting road signals help manage traffic flow efficiently. This is a vital part of Motorway travel Eid guidelines.
  6. Take Regular Breaks: For long journeys, stopping every two hours is recommended to prevent driver fatigue. Never drive when feeling drowsy to maintain alertness on the road.
  7. Emergency Preparedness: Keep emergency numbers handy, including the NHMP helpline at 130. Carry a first-aid kit and extra fuel to be ready for any unexpected situations.
  8. Report Unsafe Behavior: Passengers and drivers should promptly report overloading, reckless driving, or any form of overcharging via the NHMP helpline to help enforce Eid travel guidelines.

Enhanced Safety Measures and Public Awareness
To support this Eid travel advisory, the NHMP has increased patrolling and deployed additional officers on major routes to manage traffic and improve Motorway Eid safety. Road safety briefings are being conducted at toll plazas nationwide.

Travelers can also listen to live traffic updates on FM Radio 88.6, helping them avoid congested areas and plan their routes efficiently.

Alongside these efforts, the NHMP has launched a public awareness campaign using social media and electronic billboards, reminding everyone that responsible driving and strict adherence to Eid travel tips are essential for a safe holiday journey.

For any emergencies or assistance during travel, commuters are encouraged to contact the Motorway Police helpline at 130.
