Capital Smart Motors (CSM), a branch of Habib Rafiq Engineering, has officially announced its intent to bring the Geely Radar RD6 electric pickup truck to the Pakistani market. This move signifies the arrival of Radar Auto—Geely’s electric utility vehicle sub-brand—into the local automotive scene, expanding the presence of Chinese EV innovation in the country.

Strategic Collaboration with Geely

The announcement comes after CSM signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Geely Auto Group. This strategic agreement outlines a plan to introduce multiple electric vehicle lines under the Geely umbrella into Pakistan. Besides the Radar RD6 Truck, CSM also aims to launch Geely’s luxury EV division, Zeekr, and Farizon, which focuses on commercial electric vehicles. While the timeline for launches remains undisclosed, the RD6 EV Launch is expected to generate significant buzz.

Highlights of the Radar RD6

Internationally, the Radar RD6 Specs include both rear-wheel and all-wheel drive variants. The pickup offers a driving range between 373 km to 455 km, tested under China’s CLTC standards. Designed for both performance and utility, it features quick acceleration and high payload capabilities. However, the final specifications for Radar RD6 Pakistan will be confirmed closer to the launch.

The RD6 is manufactured by Radar New Energy Automobile (Zhejiang) Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of the Geely Auto Group. Geely’s global footprint includes ownership of renowned brands like Volvo, Lotus, Lynk & Co, and Zeekr, through its parent company, Zhejiang Geely Holding Group.

Local Deployment and Infrastructure

CSM plans to utilize infrastructure from Capital Smart City and Lahore Smart City to support the rollout of electric vehicles. The company envisions integrating Electric Pickup Pakistan models like the RD6 into sustainable urban mobility systems. With a growing focus on smart transport, CSM is laying the groundwork for efficient EV adoption across Pakistan.
